this is BY FAR the best new SAT prep book out there (so although it does have some issues, I'll give it 4 stars).NOTE: I have only taken the 1st practice test so far, so this review only applies to the 1st test.For the most part, this book very accurately resembles the actual Collegeboard exams, unlike Ivy global or Barron's. Having taken the real SAT as well as 13 practice exams, I can say that I'm very impressed at how realistic and well-written this book is. The only issue is that the Reading section of the 1st test was much more difficult than SAT level (it felt a lot like the AP english multiple choice section at times). so, just remember that you'll likely do much better on the actual SAT's reading section than the one in this book.
Used this text with a High School Freshman preparing for the PSAT. As a dyslexic, she needed a slow approach to the real thing. We found it very helpful as I had already written a text of helps for my reading challenged students.
I believe this was very helpful to one of my children. Although, my belief is that Kahn Academy, which might be free for SAT stuff (or free with SAT registration) is a key game changer for SAT prep.
Perfect prep book for my 8th grade daughter who has friends who have put the SATs on here radar. I personally haven't glanced through the book, but she has and it's exactly what she was expecting - information and practice tests that quickly let her see where her strengths and were her deficiencies are.
My 17 year old son used this book religiously for four months prior to his SAT exam. He did very well on the exam.
